"OLVIA-PRESS"
EXPERTS' CONSULTATIONS ON
MOLDAVIAN-DNIESTRIAN SETTLEMENT
WILL GO ON IN TIRASPOL.
Today in Tiraspol there took place the meeting of the DMR President Igor
Smirnov with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova David Schwarz, the
plenipotentiary representative of the Ukrainian President in the negotiation
process Piotr Chaly, and with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador
of the Russian Federation in the RM Pavel Petrovski. The Dniestrian minister of
foreign affairs Valery Litskay also participated in the meeting.
As it became known to the press agency "Olvia-press",
discussion of outcomes of Kishinev consultations' round on Moldavian-Dniestrian
settlement was the topic of the negotiations.
The Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova David Schwarz said after the
meeting, "We arrived here to inform the Dniestrian authority about the
work carried out by us during Kishinev rounds of the sitting on
Moldavian-Dniestrian settlement. By his words, he was satisfied by the work of
Kishinev sitting. At the same time, as David Schwarz mentioned, "it is
very important that all problems impeding the work with political issues should
be removed and resolved as soon as possible". The Head of the OSCE Mission
defined more accurately that he meant the parties' fulfillment of agreements
achieved before. He also mentioned that by October 1st, the parties'
experts' groups would have to present detailed reports about the accomplished
work. Besides, as David Schwarz informed an agreement had been reached that Tiraspol
round of quanta-lateral consultations within frames of the Permanent convention
of representatives of Moldova, Dniestria, Russia, Ukraine, and the OSCE would
start on September 18th.
The DMR minister of foreign affairs Valery Litskay also expressed his
opinion about the today's meeting. "The mediators intend to maintain the
dialogue constantly, and because of that they expressed willingness to meet
with the presidents of Moldova and Dniestria. I should say that Vladimir
Voronin has not received the mediators: he is on vacation. Whereas the meeting
with the DMR President Igor Smirnov has taken place today", the head of
the Dniestrian MFA remarked.
By words of the DMR minister of foreign affairs, "a large exchange
of opinions (including economic issues) took place in Tiraspol". Besides,
a number of proposals, developed by the Dniestrian experts, were presented at
the meeting.
"Today we presented a protocol decision on the problem of
trade-and-industry chambers and certificates as well as on the Memorandum of
the guarantor-countries on unconditional fulfillment of agreements. To their
turn, the mediators took a responsibility upon them to inform the Moldavian
side about it", Valery Litskay said.
The DMR minister of foreign affairs remarked, "Today's meeting was
rather useful, and I think we will carry out such consultations periodically,
so that the point of view of the Dniestrian authority would directly reach the
guarantors and mediators.
