AWARDS CORRESOND TO DEALS.

On September 1^st, on the eve of the 12^th anniversary of foundation of the Dniester Moldavian Republic, in the Palace of Republic, there took place awarding of the best representatives of the republican economy’s working collectives of Dniestria with high governmental rewards. The DMR President Igor Smirnov personally handed the Order of Honor, of Labor Glory, medals for “Labor Courage”. 19 Dniestrian employees were granted honorable title “The Deserved Employee of the DMR” in different domains.

In his brief celebration speech, having concerned political and economic situationin the republic, the President emphasized that the Dniestrian people with their self-denying labor once again confirmed the correctness of their choice in foundation of the proper democratic and sovereign state – the Dniester Moldavian Republic.

- Our people just like nobody else knows how difficult is to work and live now, keeping those high values put by our predecessors: love, friendship, and equality of all nationalities, living in this land, - Igor Smirnov said.

As the head of the state remarked, 12 years ago Dniestrians, keeping weapon in their arms, stood for their right of holding proper political and economic course. About correctness of the chosen way there says the fact that, unlike Moldova, industrial potentials of our republic has been saved but not wasted. High-qualitative commodities produced by Dniestrian enterprises benefit high demand of consumers from many foreign states. Dniestria lives and develops without any subsidies and investment from the West. The state pays much attention at social protection of its citizens. Pensioners receive pensions in time, the average salary of the industry benefactors is significantly higher than in neighboring Moldova, and wages of the budget-sphere benefactors is gradually increasing. Of course, such situation causes strong envy of the official Kishinev, which started a full-scale economic blockade of Dniestria in September 2001. But for the last year, Dniestrians proved once again that any barriers would not make them turn aside from the chosen way: economy is functioning, wages and pensions are being paid, tendencies of re-growth of pre-blockade volumes of production.

In conclusion, Igor Smirnov once again cordially grated the awarded people for self-denying labor and celebrated them with the approaching holiday – the 12^th anniversary of foundation of the Dniester Moldavian Republic.
