“OLVIA-PRESS”
On September 1st 2002, in Tiraspol in the small hall of the
Palace of Republic, there took place the presentation of the DMR publications,
at which there came authors, publishers, specialists, and readers. Among
presented literature there were about 10 names of manuals in the Moldavian
language for Moldavian and Russian schools, the almanac “The Literary
Dniestria”, the historical almanac of Dniestria, the edition “The Days and
Nights of the Tragedy from Bendery”, other books and magazines of Dniestrian
authors.
By words of Liudmila Tishina, the chief of editorial staff of the
Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, editorial activity in our
republic is accomplished by state publishing organizations:
Editorial-Publishing Department of the DSU named after T.Shevchenko, the
Editorial-Cultural center “Kniga”, printing-houses “Polygraphist”, “Tipar”, and
private editorial organizations: the Publishing House “Delo”, JSC “Litera”, and
others. She remarked, “Book-publishing activity in our republic is successfully
developing. Prices for high-qualitative didactic-methodical literature for
schools and higher education institutions are considerably lower than in
neighboring states”.
By her words, in few years educational institutions of the republic
would be fully provided with contemporary, the major part of which would be
issued in Dniestrian publishing houses. Historical, economic, and literary
issues are benefiting demand of Dniestrians and of foreign readers.
Among plenty of publications presented at the exhibition, the greatest
interest of the audience there caused the almanac “Dniestria in Geopolitical
System of Coordinates of the XXI century”, prepared by specialists of the
Dniestrian Scientific center of the Russian Academy of Real Sciences and the
Center of Social and Political Research “Perspective” of the DSU named after
T.Shevchenko. There are reflected problems of political, social, and economic
development of our republic. Readers are given a perfect possibility to get
acquainted with position of authors, who have chosen the complicated and
delicate topic of ‘development of self-proclaimed states’ as an objective of
their research.
This year, there was also issued the historical book of Ghennady
Kodryanu under title of “The Dniestrian Break”. The author, basing on real
facts and documentaries, relates about history of foundation and enforcement of
the Dniester Moldavian Republic. The given book represents an interest not only
for specialists but also for a large circle of readers who interest with the
history of our state.
By words of the minister of education Elena Bomeshko, the Dniestrian
literature benefits “huge success not only in the republic but also far
abroad”. But because of a small circulation many books have already managed to
become a ‘second-hand book rarity’. Maybe that’s why, as she emphasized, “The
days of the presentation of Dniestrian publications there always gather a lot
of people who are sincerely interested in information about Dniestria, truth
about our life would be spread throughout the world”.
The minister cordially celebrated participants of the exhibition with
the approaching holiday: the 12th anniversary of foundation of the
Dniester Moldavian Republic and wished creative successes and good luck to
participants of the exhibition.
