According to the Constitution of Trans-Dniester Moldavian Republic, every citizen has the right to get free-of-charge health services.

The Ministry of Public Health of Trans-Dniester Republic has at its disposal are two versatile republican clinics and two children's hospitals in the cites of Tiraspol and Bendery, and the republican hospital for the veterans of the World War II. Skilled medical personnel of these medical establishments is supplied by modern medical equipment for rendering duly medical services and treatment to the population of Trans-Dniester Republic. Together with citizens of Trans-Dniester Republic, the republican hospital for the veterans of the WWII is accepting citizens of Republic Moldova for treatment and medical prophylaxis on a free-of-charge basis. There are two municipal and five central regional hospitals, eighteen local first-aid posts and sixty obstetric centers on the territory of Trans-Dniester Moldavian Republic.

On the average there are 140 hospital beds per 10,000 people. All cities and district centers have ambulance stations.

Republican network of medical establishments also includes many prophilactic centers of all necessary specializations, polyclinics and village ambulance stations, and also two specialized sanatoriums in Kamenka and Rybnitsa.
